Agnes Murphy has lived with dogs all her life and started grooming as a teenager. Having achieved the City& Guilds Dog Grooming Certificate with distinction and then the Advanced Diploma, she realised her vocation was in teaching and so completed the Teaching Certificate in Further Education and also become a qualified assessor.

This led her to opening a training school ‘Scotsgroom’ in 1998, its reputation has spread worldwide with students coming from all over the globe, many of whom are competing with great success.

Agnes is no stranger to the competition circuit herself- her numerous wins and awards include: several 1st places at both The British Groomer of the Year and at Eurogroom; a Certificate of Merit at Intergroom (200?); a Gold Medal Award at Intergroom 2005; and was awarded the International Groomer of the Year 2005! As well as competing all round the world, Agnes has also judged internationally.

Despite all these commitments, she still finds the time to show and breed dogs and to take an active role in breed clubs and rescue. She enjoys great success in various breeds, including Setters, Retrievers and Poodles, making up several champions and winning the Top Puppy 2001 and Eukanuba Top Sire 2001. Her show career also includes judging in both the Utility and Gundog groups.

With Agnes’ wealth of knowledge, outstanding grooming skills and her reputable teaching experience, it is with great pleasure that we welcome her as one of our fine Masters.
