A truly modern and comprehensive Master Class. A programme that thoroughly demonstrates the hand stripping process and the clipped alternative. This DVD can be viewed in its entirety or in individual chapters:

  1. Equipment: Linda talks us through all the equipment used.
  2. Hand stripping: Linda demonstrates the techniques she prefers and discusses the alternatives. Carding is performed while Linda explains why this is such an important factor to hand stripping. An illustration is used to explain banding and a most interesting and clear explanation is given about the structure of the hair- '..it's just like weeding the garden!' A very young puppy and a 5 month old pup help to reiterate the importance of 'starting young', while Linda also expertly handles the 'baby'. The Breed Standard is discussed and despite the fact that there's '..no such thing as a perfect dog…' Linda emphasises the point that the dog should still look balanced and have the correct shape for the breed.
  3. Clipping: Although hand stripping is the 'correct' method for removing the Schnauzer's coat, sometimes there is a genuine reason or two as to why this may not be possible. Linda clips the coat, while the blade nos. (for both Andis type and Ascaelap type) are noted on the screen. Nails are trimmed prior to the bath.
  4. Bathing and Drying: Both dogs are bathed simultaneously, while the different products required are discussed, as well as how to treat the coats according to their grooming process. Fluff drying is demonstrated and areas highlighted when necessary.
  5. Styling: Both dogs are used to show the similarity of the styling methods. During this chapter, ears are plucked and teeth scraped and cleaned. Linda is excellent at explaining while demonstrating- from when she scissors in '..the trouser crease..' to when she warns of the risk of making the face '..look cheeky..' Regularly referring to the breed standard, Linda adeptly shows how to achieve that balanced and attractive look.
  6. Revision Finale: Summarises both processes and explains how to 'stack' the dog correctly.
£29.99Interaction between the Master and the presenter, fun and funky music along with various effects throughout ensures that this is definitely not just a boring grooming lecture!
