Module 4 The Poodle Continental and English Saddle Trim by Philip Langdon
{dropcaps on}

ImageThis DVD can be watched in its entirety or in separate sections which is ideal if there are certain aspects that need refreshing. The two trims are shown in full, with the Continental preceding the English Saddle. This DVD is the third of four Poodle Master Classes. Repetition is kept to a minimum, and therefore aspects such as bathing, fluff drying, facial and feet clipping is not shown in full in each DVD, although it will be discussed.

Each DVD features one or more of these aspects in greater detail. This programme presumes that you have basic knowledge of scissoring techniques and clipper handling. We recommend Philip's Module 2 for tuition on these aspects along with clipping the face, feet, tail and hygiene areas, ear cleaning and plucking and nail clipping. Fluff drying is also demonstrated in Module 2. All these aspects are crucial to achieve the ultimate Continental or English Saddle Trim as Philip Langdon demonstrates in this Module 4.

Continental

Philip begins with 'Layer brushing' Noah, a magnificent Black Standard Poodle. Such an important routine that must not be over looked.

Clipper work obviously plays an intrinsic part in the Continental Trim.

Correct positioning of the bracelets/ poms and rosettes ensures a well balanced look. While the shape and size of these should be dictated by the structure of the individual dog.

The Top Knot is an art in itself! Here Philip demonstrates step by step how he achieves this beautiful affect. Get your elastics ready!!!

English Saddle

Here, Philip transforms Dylan, a beautiful Miniature Poodle in a very over grown Puppy Pants Trim into a stylish (yes, still beautiful) Miniature Poodle adorning the English Saddle Trim.

The positioning of the poms is crucial and is explained with reminders on screen as to where to place them.

Philip explains that this is a trim that certainly needs to settle and may need altering several times before the desired look is achieved.

Philip demonstrates how to initially mark out the clipping areas with scissors. How to scissor the poms correctly to achieve good angulation.

The Top Knot is created on this young dog, therefore another example of how to treat this area according to coat length.

This trim is certainly not for the faint hearted, but it is certainly a challenge and truly magnificent when achieved.

Accompanied of course, with footage of some beautiful Poodles in action in the UK today.

£29.99Interaction between the Master and the presenter, fun and funky music along with various effects throughout ensures that this is definitely not just a boring grooming lecture!
